Restore Speed limit back to 60 mph on FM 4

This petition had 85 supporters

Recently the speed limit along FM 4 between Grandview and Cleburne near the Sand Flat area was reduced from 60 to 55 mph. We are petitioning TXDOT in Keene and Johnson county commissioner pct 4, to reverse this change and restore the previous limit, as there was no rational excuse to lower it in the first place. This section of highway 4 is almost completely straight, there is not an excessive amount of driveways nor are there a great number of county roads coming into it. This new speed limit will do nothing to reduce accidents or increase safety, and will only cause an increase in tickets and an increase in travel times.

UPDATE: The speed limit was lowered at the request of the county commissioner. It is not a temporary reduction as a rumor floating around has stated. This information was received from an employee of TXDOT. The petition will now be directed at the county commissioner.

Here is the information for county commissioner if anyone wants to contact him.
