Durand Pape started this petition to Restaurants With A Drive-Thru

Many truckers across America are having issues getting a hot meal after a long day of moving important supplies across the nation during this Coronavirus crisis.  Listening to the radio I’ve heard of a trucker who obviously could not bring his truck through the McDonald’s drive-thru, the dining room was closed, and didn’t have an option for carry out. He attempted to walk up to the window of the drive-thru but was denied any ability to order.  I believe in light of the crisis we are facing restaurants should waive any rules they have against walking to the window and ordering at the drive-thru for the men and women moving vital supplies.  I’ve read already that a police department has set up a phone line for truckers to call and they can be picked up by an officer to get food through a drive-thru or the officer would do it for them.  While this is a solution I think it’s not the best.  With many restrictions already being lifted on truckers making them work longer days the last thing they’re going to want is a hassle to get a hot meal.  While this may seem very specific I think it would be very helpful if it was brought to light.  I saw how quickly people said stores should allow senior only hours during the crisis and then it was implemented by many stores across the nation.  Perhaps this simple thing would be able to help many truckers trying to move important supplies keeping America moving.
