Appointment of a Joint Parliamentary Committee to examine the Crypto Ecosystem

Appointment of a Joint Parliamentary Committee to examine the Crypto Ecosystem
The Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill, 2021 has been listed for "introduction, consideration and passing" in the current session of the Parliament. This Bill seeks to "prohibit all private cryptocurrencies in India".
News of this bill has created a lot of fear, uncertainty & doubt in the minds of the members of India's crypto community which comprises innovative startups and patriotic citizens.
The global crypto ecosystem is today valued at over a trillion US dollars. It is the melting pot for some of the most innovative technological and financial ideas. The contribution of Indian citizens and startups to this ecosystem is commendable.
If Indian citizens and startups are prohibited from participating in this vibrant ecosystem, it will deprive our great nation of many business opportunities.
If we are allowed to actively participate in this ecosystem, the revenue generated will contribute to achieving our country's target of a USD 5 trillion economy by 2024.
I humbly request the Respected Prime Minister of India and the Hon'ble Members of Parliament to appoint a Joint Parliamentary Committee to examine in detail the global crypto ecosystem which today comprises not only millions of individuals but also some of the world's most respected financial institutions.
I humbly request the Respected Prime Minister of India and the Hon'ble Members of Parliament to give the crypto community a chance to present its point of view on these vital matters.
Yours sincerely,
Rohas Nagpal
Citizen, Republic of India
