Whistler’s traffic congestion has become a major problem. Delays up to two hours to go twelve kilometers, which normally takes fifteen minutes is unacceptable. Busses are held up trying to get workers to work on time, families are held up trying to get home for dinner. Hundreds of vehicles are grid locked in the village and along the highway almost daily sitting idle expelling exhaust fumes into the mountain fresh air. Traffic is backed up kilometers along the highway trying to get into the town in the morning and on Friday afternoons. This is not only a winter problem it is also a summer problem. I propose that another lane be added from the merge point heading North, before Function Junction to Lorimer Rd and another lane being added past Village Gate intersection heading South next to the Whistler Golf Course to Function Junction. I call on The Resort Municipality to make the change
