Resolve to Dissolve the JCPSD

The Jefferson County Commission has approved dissolution of the Jefferson County Public Service District and the sale of its assets and debts to the City of Charles Town as an initial measure to consolidate co-located water and sewer utilities. According to information provided by the county commission, more than half of the PSD’s rates go to Charles Town already.
Spreading costs of projects and system upgrades over a larger customer base will benefit ratepayers of both utilities and will normalize rates within affected urban growth boundaries.
The undersigned agree that the Jefferson County Commission, West Virginia, should dissolve the Jefferson County Public Service District in order to transfer or sell the utility's assets and debts to Charles Town as a form of consolidation or unification of the utilities
