Oppose the re-zoning and development of 20 & 26 Morningside Drive South in Westport, CT into an apartment complex. 

20 & 26 Morningside Drive South is a historically designated single family residential property in the middle of a  bucolic residential neighborhood in the Greens Farms area of Westport.  Developers want to re-zone the property for a medium density 8-30(g) multifamily apartment development. 

Two applications have recently been submitted to the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission: One is to re-zone the residential property to a multi-family property, and the other is for site plan approval to develop the property into 19 apartments.  The re-zoned medium density apartment development would be surrounded by single family residential properties and across the street from Greens Farms Elementary School.  

This proposed development is inconsistent with the scale, nature and character of the surrounding streetscape.  The development would demolish the historic residential property and would contribute greatly to traffic problems across the street from the school.
