Do not remove the statue on the corner of the downtown square in Mt Pleasant
Do not remove the statue on the square in downtown Mt Pleasant. This represents all the military men and women who have served In WW1,WW2,KOREA,VIETNAM. AND any war we have been in. My Father served in WW1. My uncle was a prisoner of war in Germany WW2, my brother served in KOREA, Same brother served in Vietnam, my brother-in-law served in Vietnam. This is not only the history of all military but of MY FAMILY. There is nothing Racist about it. There were Black men, White Men, Mexican men, and American Indians fighting side by side. In fact, if it were not for the American Indians we could have possibly lost WW2. They fought for you to have the freedoms you have today. DO NOT REMOVE THAT STATUE. My family history is wrapped in that statue. A lot of other residents’ history is also wrapped up in that statue. It’s OUR HISTORY. YOU CANT DENY HISTORY. OR REMOVE HISTORY, OR HIDE HISTORY. LEARN FROM IT OR YOU’LL LIKELY REPEAT IT. I DO NOT WANT ANY MORE WAR. DO YOU? ITS UP TO YOU PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTY TO STAND FOR OUR COUNTY AND OUR PEOPLE WHO STOOD FOR US. NOW STAND FOR THEM!!
