Kathleen Hawley started this petition to Residents of Surrey

There is a huge need for a bus stop in residential Port Kells. The residents of this area have no access to the transit system. This area needs a bus route but something that can be done now is to put in a bus stop on an existing bus route. Please read what is happening and if you agree that a bus stop needs to be added please sign. Thank you.

There are  two buses( 501 and 388) that drive past residential Port Kells and neither one stops at 96ave at 180street. This is the closest intersection to residential Port Kells that a bus route currently passes.

Translink built Golden Ears Way and yet did not put in sufficient bus stops. The 501 makes a stop at 104 ave at 158 street and does not stop again till 96 ave at 186 street. This is a distance of 6.7 Km with no stop. According to Translinks own 2018 guidelines a rapid bus route such as the 99 should not have stop spacing of more than 1500m

Here is the link to the guidelines Translink has.

Yet on the 501 bus route it is 4 times that distance. This is not acceptable. Please sign this petition in support of an entire community that has been forgotten by Translink.
