St Thomas Moore Catholic Church was built in the Shadowridge,Vista/Oceanside area in the early 2010’s.  It is located at 1450 S Melrose Dr., Oceanside, CA.  In 2015 the church added a Carillon (bell tower) and used it to announce Sunday services. The volume of the Carillon was excessively loud and contact was made with the church to lower the volume. Father Mike Ratajczak (RIP) was helpful and lowered the volume to a level that was good for all neighbors. It was maintained at that level for 6 years.  

July 18th 2021 an abnormal lightning storm passsd through the area causing electrical problems with their security and Audio systems.  This caused a dramatic increase in the volume of the bell tower which made the Sunday service announcements and Hour Chime significantly more audible. The Hourly Chime rings 12 hours per day, 365 days per year.  This causes noise disturbance to the local population.  The church is unwilling to bring the volume level down to what it has historically been (2015-2021).

This petition is to have the Outdoor Music and Hourly Chime turned DOWN (or OFF) to a level that is largely inaudible to the local population.
