Petition to oppose variance to build storage structure in front yard of home on Jace Ln

This petition is in response to a letter received by residents of Montgomery Farm by Northport Zoning Board of Adjustments in regards to a variance filed by Brenda Nuckols. This variance was filed by Mrs. Nuckols to build an accessory structure (storage building) in the front yard of their home (currently under construction) at 13070 Jace Lane. The Montgomery Farm HOA has a set of Covenants in which such structures are specifically addressed and must meet specific requirements in order to be approved. Although the homesite is not considered part of the Montgomery Farm subdivision, it very much appears to be due in part to the address of the property, the close proximity of their property to other homes, and the fact they use our neighborhood roads to access their property. The residents of Montgomery Farm try very hard to meet and comply with the covenants set by our HOA in order to maintain the integrity of our neighborhood. The Montgomery Farm residents feel that by allowing such a structure to be built would detract from the overall aesthetics of the neighborhood. We also feel this structure could potentially decrease the value and/or resale value of our homes. We ask that the Zoning Board of Adjustments take into consideration the wishes of the Montgomery Farm residents and respectfully decline the variance filed by Mrs. Nuckols.
