To the Leicester Community: It has become increasingly apparent that the School Superintendent, Dr. Tencza, is no longer fit to handle the ongoing and increasing needs of our school district. Her lack of leadership, transparency, problem solving skills and truthfulness with the public are damaging our community and most importantly the students of the Leicester School District.

The following examples are some of the recent areas of concern that members of the Leicester community have raised to multiple groups, including the Leicester Selectboard and Leicester School Committee.

1. Oil spill at the Leicester Elementary School in April 2021- Lack of transparency with reporting, responsibility, follow up testing of soil and indoor air quality and major cost to Town budget over the insurance cap. No accountability

2. Backup generator failed inspection in August 2021- It was reported that the issue could not be resolved, yet the problem was fixed the next day once the Selectboard intervened. Evidence of lying

3. A boiler caused soot to cover the Middle School in late August 2021- No information related to issue or cost to town has been shared with the community.

4. Numerous public records requests- These requests have been derailed with erroneous charges by the Superintendent or admission of no records existing.

5. The elimination of a recently added Curriculum Director and the last minute addition of a newly created Assistant Superintendent position.

6. Running a confidential search with a questionable interview process for the Assistant Superintendent position and then ultimately hiring a former colleague.

7. A multitude of pending Open Meeting Law violations that have been filed.

8. Multiple findings against the Superintendent from DESE related to remote learning instruction over the 2020-2021 school year.

The intent of this petition is to allow members of the school community and public to hold elected officials accountable for having Dr. Tencza removed from her position as Superintendent of Leicester Schools due to her unsatisfactory job performance.
