Remove real estate agents from the planning board
We need to ban real estate agents from being able to join our towns planning board to prevent them from having the ability to make decisions on our towns behalf that could financially benefit them. Land usage issues such as housing projects, plans pertaining to the Prime Tanning area and any other public area in town often requires real estate and construction contractor dealings to get off the ground. Having agents on our planning board gives them an upper hand in getting these deals approved and potencially profiting from the outcome. It also gives them an inside look at other areas of possible interest such as, bringing businesses into town and what kinds of businesses that they could capitalize on. This can dramatically affect all property owners where it hurts the most, our wallets. Creating excessive strain on our small town infrastructure and schools systems with explosive population increases requiring the modifications and "improvements" to our town to accommodate the extra burden. All at the expense of tax paying property owners, while much of the profits end up right in their pockets. These expenses wouldn't necessarily be evenly distributed, as many of the new residents would be renters who pay nothing or condo owners that pay smaller percentages due to the amount of families on a single piece of land. Many of these families would have children using our school system raising educational costs and putting a strain on our infrastructure.
