Requiring ASL as a communications class in public schools.

Requiring ASL as a communications class in public schools.
Why this petition matters
Our ability to communicate is one of the most important factors of being a human. Communication in school is an important aspect of learning to grow as a society and our schools should be a stepping stone in human growth. We should be teaching children the ability to communicate with the hearing impaired at a young age.
Young children have an innate ability to form language and communication styles, and at a young age we should teach our youth to learn ASL in order to communicate with the hearing impaired, and communicate in ways other than just verbally.
Outside of just hearing impaired persons, ASL can be very useful in many situations in everyone everyday life. Whether it is communicating over a distance, or "speaking" while your voice cannot be heard (underwater, loud environment, staying quite) sign language can be very useful in helping to grow how our society view communication.
We are petitioning to get ASL added into the public schools normal curriculum. At a young age children are able to build everlasting language skills. These skills become a vital part of our speaking. If we as a society can teach ASL in schools at a young age, we will be on the correct path to truly learn to be all inclusive, and help with everyday factors in which we struggle in our social abilities.
