Require Quincy Public Schools to hire an independent investigator
Require Quincy Public Schools to hire an independent investigator
The Issue
My son, a student at the Early Childhood and Family Center (ECFC), was hit by an obese teacher's assistant. Instead of taking this matter seriously and addressing it with the urgency it demanded, Roy Web – a key figure in Quincy Public Schools – blew it off. This action, or rather inaction, is infuriating and unacceptable. Student safety should be the highest priority in our schools, but incidents like this indicate a severe oversight in handling such matters.
Unfortunately, many parents in the Quincy community have shared similar experiences, where their concerns about student safety fell on deaf ears. It's clear that the current internal investigation procedures within Quincy Public Schools are insufficient and biased. To rebuild trust and ensure that our children are protected, there is a necessity for an independent, third-party investigation into claims involving the safety and well-being of students.
Independent investigations are crucial in maintaining an unbiased perspective and ensuring that all matters are handled with the seriousness they deserve. An independent investigator will provide transparency and accountability, ensuring that all claims are thoroughly and fairly assessed without internal bias.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, approximately 20% of students ages 12-18 reported being bullied at school, and discipline-related incidents constitute a significant safety issue (source: NCES). This data highlights the critical need for schools to have robust and impartial mechanisms for addressing all safety-related concerns.
Parents and guardians worldwide expect and deserve to have their children protected while at school – a place meant for learning and growth, not fear or danger. Implementing regular independent investigations within Quincy Public Schools would set a new standard in education safety, letting everyone know that we will not stand idly by while our children are vulnerable.
Sign this petition to demand Quincy Public Schools hire an independent investigator dedicated to examining and resolving safety claims among students. Let’s ensure a safer educational environment for all our children.
