The Adelante board members are in charge and responsible for all the finances and money transactions done by the non profit. The Executive Director shouldn’t have access to their finances unless permitted by the board. The first embezzlement transaction was done in 2019 and the board reported until 2022 that more than $400 0000 was missing. For This reason they should be held accountable for this terrible and dishonorable incident. The right thing for them to do is to resign from their  positions and let people who really care take over. Being a board member is more than having a title that can look good in a resume. If you can’t do your job please don’t be part of something you don’t want to belong. In the meantime there is Latino women waiting to be pick up for their classes at Adelante, children waiting to received their educational programs, also children and mothers who depend on programs to leave their homes for some hours because they don’t own a car and they do not speak English, and the so many other great things Adelante does for the community like the summer camps for lower income children. Basically, everything on hold due to funds that have been mishandled. This is unacceptable and the community should fear giving money to the same board members who already have shown themselves as non qualified for what this job entitles. Please sign this petition so fraud is not committed again and defend the rights of Latinos with low social economic status.
