Petitioning the city of Saginaw, TX for a Public Hearing for a Buffer Road Connecting East Bailey Boswell Rd and McLeroy.
It is the understanding of the NWTC Neighborhood Coalition, that a request by a council member to have a public hearing is being blocked because 3 council members were against it. The residents of Saginaw need this public hearing to take place, because we need this road. We believe that Mayor Brinkley and the city council do not have the best interest of Saginaw and the citizens at heart.
DR Horton will bring their final plat to P&Z for final approval soon. Once that plat is adopted, all hope for a decent road connecting E Bailey Boswell and McLeroy will be lost. This road is important to the Saginaw community for two reasons:
1. Alleviate traffic congestion and provide a work around for traffic stuck at train crossings on the east side of the tracks.
2. Provide a buffer zone between heavy industrial and residential. Building residential homes next to railroad tracks, simply put, is irresponsible. We aren't able to stop them from doing that at this point, but we can put pressure on the city to do it as responsibly as possible.
