Benchmark Vultures invested $27M in Uber which those shares are now worth $8.4 BILLION and they are suing the founder and trying to minimize his control after he created so much value for them? Why would anyone want an investor like Benchmark they tarnish the reputation of the VC community worse than it already is. Obviously they dont care what people think they made so much money from that investment.

I think while there are concerning allegations of Travis and Uber, at least some of these issues are not the fault of Travis. Mr. Kalanick has created a truly disruptive company. As a CEO myself, it's hard to build and scale a company and sometimes flaws are not always readily apparent.

Travis and Uber have been solving one of the world's biggest problems so they should be trusted to solve the problems within Uber as well. It's terrible for an investor like Benchmark to support Travis when the times are good, but then turn on him when it's easy to and results in them hearing less negative press. At the end of the day we are a community and should be helping each other, not turning on each other. This is a time when Benchmark could be putting in extra hours to help Travis, but instead they want to take the easy way out and force him out.

I agree, this action by Benchmark does seem ethically dubious. Let's go back to an easier time when Travis swept things under the rug and allowed misogyny to reign.

As an Uber employee, I don't believe this is in the best interest of our company and the hard working people who have helped build a better world.
