REQUEST FOR INCREASE SEATS FOR CTET EXAM OR MULTIPLE DATES OR OFFLINE EXAM- PORT BLAIR
Why this petition matters
Dear Organizer (CBSE)
and
Ministry of Education and other responsible authorities.
It is a good step to move towards the digitalization of education and examination thereafter. But it is matter of discrimination to the candidates of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which we put forth for your kind attention that allotting only 765 seats is not at all enough for the enthusiastic aspiring teachers or Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
It is well understood that the IT infrastructure required for conducting this exam is limited in Isles. But this should not hamper the opportunities available to the candidates. The islanders are deprived of many things already and the first preferred Govt. occupation in A& N islands is teaching only. So, to qualify CTET is highly pertinent to get a permanent govt teaching job.
CBSE has nowhere mentioned in the CTET Dec -2022 about the limited seats availability for each centre. It is really against right to equality to deprived eligible candidates on the basis of lack of infrastructure of the govt. in the islands. It should be well understood by the organizer and other responsible authorities that the citizens of Andaman and Nicobar Islands are mostly from Lower Middle Class Economical Status and all of these families can’t afford to send their wards to mainland to appear for such meager but important exams. Moreover, Port Blair Airport is under maintenance and is under limited operation. It would be a big burden to pay minimum amount of Rs 7000-10000 (over an above the fees paid for the exam ) for flight from Port Blair to Chennai or Kolkata airport during peak season and limited air traffic available.
This online limitations of seats at Port Blair is contradiction to
(a) No Pre disclosure of limited seats to avoid panic havoc strife before it started online.
(b) Right to equality to appear exam in nearby centre within the proximity of residential location.
(c) Right to Equal Opportunities by depriving candidates on meager ground of limited seats available due to lack of IT infrastructure.
(d) Right to freedom to appear exam is deprived by limiting the seats
(e) Unable to standardized the CTET Dec-2022 test according to the demographic limitation of Pan- India.
Kindly immediate action may be taken by opting either of the following options suitable to CBSE:
(a) Increased seats as per candidates available for filling the form with centre as Port Blair.
(b) Exam may be conducted on multiple dates to cater all the candidates in Port Blair itself.
(c) Conduct offline test for Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
(d) Any other option best suitable by CBSE but fulfilling the demand of citizens of A&N Islands appearing the CTET exam at Port Blair itself.
Your one small help to give equal opportunities may change lives of many deprived families. With a ray of hope.
