1: Blom Lake Drive has been a paved road for decades. Recently in June, West Sweden Township Board decided that Blom Lake Drive was no longer worth maintaining as a paved road and ground up the asphalt. Their next step is to cover it with gravel. 

2: A gravel road is dirty, a nuisance and detrimental to property value.

3: Gravel roads are less safe.  Skids are more common. Blom Lake is very close to the east side of the road.

4: Driving on gravel is unpredictable. 

5: Gravel dust is harmful to respiratory health. The dust can be fine enough to enter the lungs making it a health issue.

There are four residents on Blom Lake Drive.  One is a  business.  Other non resident traffic occurs throughout the day.

Blom Lake Drive needs to be restored to it’s previous condition of paved, not reversed to the 1950’s gravel. West Sweden Township Board has the authority to make this change.  

Blom Lake Drive will continue to be used whether it is paved or gravel but we would like to go forward into this community’s future with a modern roadway asphalt surface to complement the telecommunications fiber service recently installed .
