John Lim started this petition to Republic Polytechnic and

This is a petition to show the facilitators why the cluster grade system is terrible and illogical.

Explanation about cluster grades:
Similar to the Business Statistics Module, your grade is given over a period of weeks. However, rather than only 2 weeks, it is spread over 3 or 4 weeks.
Should the student be absent once, during one of the weeks, he/she will no longer be able to receive an A grade.

However, facilitators will tell you this is false. As it is technically still possible to receive an A grade if you complete the following steps:

1. Participate in class and communicate with your team and discuss the work to earn participation points despite being absent/sick.
2. Provide evidence that you've contributed to the team worksheet and presentation slides despite being absent/sick.
3. Submit the individual assignment which must be of decent quality should there be one. (Despite not being present to receive guidance and learn from a facilitator)
4. Submit your quiz and reflection journal which must be of a decent quality. (Despite not being present to receive guidance and learn from a facilitator)

If you've managed to complete this exhausting list of tasks, you are only ELIGIBLE to get an A based on your facilitator's subjective mood towards/perception of quality for your work.

It should also be considered that students that have unfortunately been afflicted with serious illnesses such as but not restricted to, Dengue, Malaria, or have a serious allergic reaction, will be heavily affected by this system. This negative effect only gets worse should the student be hospitalised.

Thus, this system to punish students who abuse MC (medical certificates) have negatively affected the overall student population which attend school with a positive attitude.
