What can we do in the areas we see a problem with? There are always a lot of waste that goes through the water passageway that we use in our daily necessities. If left unchecked, it will cause a major problem that will harm the children and the people around that harmful chemical mixture. Most of the households that live near the rivers have the river itself as their drainage and officials often just let them go. This is very bad, not only for the environment but also for any living kinds. There are a lot of issues in the society that gives nerve cracking for the people who live. It may have a pollution that may affect our environment and to the society. But the most problem that we observed that brings the problem to the community is the sewage or in the lack of drainage system.

A harmful water looks like some kind of a dirty chemical mixed in a liquid and it is not actually pleasing in the eye. Furthermore, the environment we live in has a lot of issues regarding to our sewerage systems and It cause so much harm even if no one dares to drink it, exposure to it has also disadvantageous side effects that might lead into serious illness. It is ignorance for both sides, as the residents don’t know the advantages of having clean water around, and the officials are being incompetent. A similar case is happening in Pasig River, where nearby houses have the said river as their flood water and human waste water sewerage system. To avoid these occurrence and repetition, public service officials must start their action by informing and educating the public, especially the areas near the water resources, about disadvantages of having any kind of body of water as drainage system. To support this, local officials should also allocate enough budget for building and reconstruction of community centered drainage system. They can also administer a seminar to teach residents on how to create drainage system by them. And lastly, Barangays should strengthen their ordinance preventing people to use any type of body of water for personal use and gain.

If problems like these are ignored and left unchecked it may concern the environment and also for the health of the people on the society. Having clogged to the sewage because of the trash or litter from the community will cause floods, a lot of bacteria may cause coli, shigellosis, typhoid fever, salmonella, and cholera. Also, increasing of harmful mosquitoes which can lead to dengue fever.

We need to solve this problem to prevent of this happening to our society. We don't need to realize the difficulties of having this problem before we can take the action. Let's start for ourselves of having discipline like taking care for our trash in order to not cause of having clogged to our drainage and sewage system that may leads to a better quality of life. Do we keep a blind eye to these kinds of problems that may cause us a major problem not only in the present but the future as well? It is not wise to live in an environment that does not prioritize the people’s health. Sewage and wastewater contains a lot of harmful bacteria and viruses. If a sewage overflows, it must have been damaged or blocked plumbing, not only that. The urban poor that often live alongside dirty drains and canals in which mosquitoes and germs breed.
