htttp://www.pmaviation.org My oldest son, Patrick died in a workplace accident when he was seventeen. Accidents are preventable, and I want to make sure other parents don't have to suffer the loss of child or have a child injured at their place of work. I want businesses to create a disclosure form for employees, stating their safety record for the last ten years from the MNOSHA website where parents can fact check the information. I want the form to list all hazards the child will be exposed to on the job, with the safety measures that are put in place to prevent death and harm to the employee. At the bottom of the form where the employee and parent/guardian sign, I want a statement that says the employee is REQUIRED to report all safety breeches or concerns to MNOSHA, and it should also be signed by the owner of the company and the employees immediate supervisor. I want the age a child needs to be to do certain jobs re-evaluated, so the job is appropriate for the child's age. I want fines increased when an employer fails to protect their employees by breeching the safety measures that are in place. If you were injured as a teenager at work or you are a parent/guardian of a teenager who has been injured or died from a workplace accident, please contact me at msmarzitelli@hotmail.com. I need impact statement from others who have been affected by unsafe work practices.
