For the last two seasons at Bluefield Middle School our boys have had a coach whom has zero knowledge of coaching. This Coach who is also a teacher at BMS got first "Bid" on the job for the simple fact he is a teacher. There is a rule that anyone who possesses a WVSSAC certificate in coaching can apply for the job, but if you are a teacher you get first bid. That for one is wrong! That is one of the main reasons our youth does not succeed at the next level in athletics. That rule needs to go! Athletics is not the most important thing when it comes to school but there are so many children who have a passion for the game, whether it be Basketball, Football, or any other sport but when you hire a Coach who has zero knowledge of the game, no discipline it makes it hard on the youth. This coach has allowed so much disrespect that not only do our parents complain, the schools we play against complain as well. That is a problem! This Coach does not prepare our children for anything, no stretching before practice or games, no control over the team and cannot properly coach our children. He has even left a child behind at another school. He has had several complaints against him last year as well as this year and we are just in the beginning of the season.  Our children are our future, when the is no guidance they tend to stray away. We have so much potential in this area and it goes to waste more and more everyday due to the carelessness of some of the Coaches/Teachers who are hired simply because they are a teacher. Please help us in getting him removed from the Coaching postion at BMS.
