Last Thursday 10/13 my boyfriend, “W”, was arrested unjustly by one of Northgate’s infamous bike cops. Us and a group of friends were leaving Bar 12’s Latin Night when suddenly a man grabbed my cousin’s butt. As soon as it happened, W stepped in after she called for him to get this guy away from her and the other girls in the group. As soon as he touched the guy, didn’t shove, punch, or hurt him at all, the cop jumps in and pushes him against the wall and handcuffs him. We explain to the cops what happened and that my cousin just got assaulted and that the man that did it was standing right there, but he didn’t care and arrested W for “disorderly conduct”. The officer claimed to have seen everything that happened which would’ve included her yelling for W and telling him that this man just grabbed her. He even described everything to a tee leaving out the assault. W had to stay the night in jail, even though we recorded another officer saying that we would be able to get him out that night. And NOTHING happened to the assaulter.  As an officer if you believe a crime is being committed it is your job to act upon it, and the same goes for bystanders according to the Good Samaritan Law. W did the right thing by getting this guy away from her and protecting us which is what these cops should’ve done. My goal is for this officer to have repercussions for arresting someone for doing the right thing. This was the tall red headed bike cop at Northgate and if you know his name/ badge number please let me know.
