Repeal of JAMAICA Laws criminalizing LGBTQ persons instead creating one's to protect
Why this petition matters
It's been the culture within the island nation of Jamaica to treat lgbtq individuals as "lesser than " the inhumane treatment they experience on a daily basis, some abandoned by there close friends, family and shun by society forcing them to take refuge in squalor while others have been fortunate to seek refuge through immigration to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom others unfortunately have been met with brutal "vigilante justice."
Countless LGBTQ individuals have died for nothing else except living there "authentic true self as a same gender loving person," the society at large, not excluding the government, religious organizations, the media, musicians and politicians have all contributed in varying degrees to not only perpetuate such injustices but also in ensuring the truth is concealed from the rest of the world as in the most recent post on the first of August 2022 in which two men a couple who were killed "execution style" in a local area within the capital of Kingston called Maxfield Avenue.
A local newspaper called the Gleaner published the story of the murders on Monday only to pull it hours later leaving no trace, link or anything in which one can get to read more on the story.
Let's together effectuate change by not only letting the government of Jamaica know we are aware of all the brutality & injustice inflicted on the LGBTQ community there but that we also demand immediate changes in laws, policies, protections and provisions in jobs, housing through local and international partnerships and aid, opportunities for academic development & access to optimal healthcare in the overall livelihoods of said individuals.
As the world is watching we say to government of Jamaica "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!" #LGBTQ CHANGES JAMAICA
