Faded road markings are putting the lives of every road user in danger throughout the UK. Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians rely on knowing where there are "Give Ways" and "Stop" instructions, especially on unfamiliar roads.

Many of these have faded so badly that some roads look like unmarked crossroads when there should be a main road being crossed by minor roads with a "Give Way" or "Stop". The signs are not always there and the markings on the road may be the only indication that somebody should give way and/or stop.

This petition is calling on the Highways Department to spend money on getting essential road markings renewed. We pay enough money in road taxes and fuel duty to more than pay for this work to be done.
