FIND OUT HOW YOUR TAXES WILL LIKELY INCREASE IF YOU LIVE IN THE CITY OF STONECREST, GEORGIA

What's wrong: They are changing the city charter in secret without telling you. They are redrawing district maps. They want to make Stonecrest the only new city that pays into the DeKalb County pension fund. The legislators, who had already approved our city charter in 2016, have decided to come back and make these changes unbeknownst to you and the citizens of Stonecrest. This is not the normal process!

House Bill 244, which obligates a new city's tax payers to continue to pay into the unfunded pension obligation of DeKalb County. At this point, the Governor's Commission is concerned as part of the bill suggests that it may only apply to cities incorporated after July 1, 2016. This will mean that Stonecrest would be the only DeKalb city contributing. That is definitely unfair to the citizens of Stonecrest. There is a recent article in the Crossroads which only mentions these bills as harmless term limits. READ THE ENTIRE BILL! AND

Local legislators supposedly representing your "best interests" are in the process of changing our city's charter without the consent or knowledge of the citizens, all by design before any candidates are elected. It's wrong and it's the real fight we are facing now for this city! Research HB600! The Governor's Commission could certainly use the people resources to combat what we know to be an affront to democracy and the citizens of Stonecrest. This legislation should not be considered without the input of the citizens of Stonecrest.
