Eric Bailey started this petition to CT schools and

The rest of the school year is being threatened by Covid-19 and forcing all classes to be moved online. Most classes are not able to adapt well to online from in person. All our education is suffering due to this virus and it’s not fair to us as students to lose out on valuable education to help us further our life and potential careers!
High school students are being told to do the rest of the year online and most schools still do not even have a plan! Most schools are already cancelling important events for seniors, ie. prom and even graduation. We all worked so hard to get to this point just for graduation to be ripped away from us? We need schools to reopen so we can continue our learning and get our deserved graduation!
Also suffering heavily are all college students enrolled in a CT school. From Community Colleges like Housatonic and Gateway to state schools like Southern and UCONN, all our classes are also cancelled for the rest of the semester and like high schools, some of us are graduating and would also be missing our graduation ceremony. Some of us are trying to transfer out from a community college next semester and even that seems difficult to do at this point in time. But most importantly, is the student already in intense programs like pre-med. Where these students must do rounds and clinicals but with this virus, it is threatening our entire future and career paths that may set us back detrimentally. All college students are suffering, even ones in an undergraduate or taking their pre-res’s as, we too, our teaches are not able to adapt well enough to online classes. Be it a math course, English course, or even a bio course. Labs are essential to the sciences are they are not able to complete them now. Language courses also suffer, as 2 semesters of a language is required to do! Languages are difficult to learn if not being directly taught, especially sign language as it is a visual language.
Please help us get our education back as soon as possible as for most of us, it holds our future and if we’ll be successful!
Thank you for signing! We will bring this to the attention of the President of the CSCU who decided to shut us all down!
