Dear City Of Renton Government and Renton School District,

As an active citizen and 10 year volunteer of Renton little League we are looking for the city of Renton to step up and upgrade our ball fields. We have continually used funds for soccer fields, trails and bike paths but nothing has gone to upgrading our ball fields. Doing so will be a huge asset to our community and promote year round play for our children!

Currently our baseball/Softball fields including all school, park, and county are old and outdated. None of which have turf infields which means they rainout very easily and the drainage is poor.

The Renton City Council and Renton School Board has made zero effort to even consider upgrading our fields to turf and make them playable.  We have no baseball complexes that are turf. The fields we play on our outdated and the outfield grass drains poorly which is a huge safety hazard for our children.

Turfed ball fields have numerous advantages:

- No Rainouts/field Damage

- Saving water/Resources

- A place for our spring little league players to call home

- A money maker for offseason tournaments and rentals. As well as Rentals to club teams.

- Multipurpose use for all levels

-Youth Recreation (Little League) and local High School team use for Varsity and JV Games.

- Safer play conditions = less injuries
