Students of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute-Lally School of Management are paying so much more than what the university set out to offer. We as students feel it is unrighteous that we have to pay as much as $28,000 for tuition even when we having online classes since the tuition now goes towards a comprehensive academic experience that cannot be fully replicated online. As a result, we are seeking a partial monetary refund for the Spring 2020 quarter. While it is necessary  to maintain social distancing and self-quarantine, the hundreds of hours lost of in-person learning are invaluable, and it would be completely unfair to require students to pay for an experience that is not being delivered. Students and families are also facing numerous financial difficulties due to the economic fallout of COVID-19, including layoffs and access to food and housing.
