The city of Rensselaer has been stricken with a constant stench, broken roads and broken trust. Only time will tell the permanent toll taken on our health. The Dunn landfill occupies a large area of our residential community. The most reprehensible aspect of having this wasteland in our community is the fact that it literally buts up against our city’s public school! What an atrocity for our most vulnerable citizens! Our concerns and demands have fallen on deaf ears with the DEC as well as our own Common Council. 
We are formally requesting a resolution from the Rensselaer City Common Council to help prevent a renewal of the Dump’s contract with the city. Our neighbors in East Greenbush have already taken such action. It is unacceptable and inexcusable if we don’t take a similar stand.
