Please show the RSCVA that you support the development of Wildcreek High School on the Wildcreek Golf Course Land by signing this petition.

The new high school at Wildcreek will be a 2,500 school that will relieve overcrowding at Spanish Springs High School and take all of Hug High School's existing zone. This will allow for renovation of Hug High School into a 1,400-seat career and technical academy. This would relieve overcrowding across the district and expand career and technical education options. A new school for the Hug High students would provide a new facility to one of our least-affluent populations. These students are currently stuck in an older, run-down school. This is an opportunity to completely change the environment for these students, and show them that it's not just the "rich, suburban kids" who get new schools.

We need to continue to focus on technical education as a community because that’s where many of our advanced manufacturing jobs are focused. Wildcreek HS would be 1 mile from Hug and needs to be close to avoid disruption of zoning. We support WCSD purchasing a portion of the Wildcreek Golf Course, which is approximately 75 acres of the 200+ acres of the golf course, most likely allowing for the preservation of a 9 hole golf course and the clubhouse.

Background information:

Nine sites were considered for this school, and it was determined that the Wildcreek site is the most feasible and meets the most needs of the community.
