Whereas; there's so much untapped story potential with that universe that the only way a lot of fans would accept The Orville truly being over after this season is if it was given a spinoff-ish show to expand that universe in true Star Trek fashion

Whereas; there is so much untapped potential in even just what the show's explored so far that I highly doubt they'll get to it within one season (e.g. I'd metaphorically kill for as much about Xeleya as we've learned about Moclas)

Whereas; if streaming services like Hulu hope to stay afloat they need to not be seen as "where shows go to die"

Whereas; given the chaos this pandemic has already caused to S3 (making die-hard fans like my dad make morbid jokes about e.g. how it'll be here when it's already happening irl or at least so late that Claire's kids will be old and running the ship) I think The Orville deserves at least one more season of stability before ending so it doesn't go out on that note

Whereas; as it's "based on" TNG which went on more than three seasons, just because it's the first show in "its universe" doesn't mean it has to end after three seasons just because TOS did

Whereas; we need something to counterbalance not only all the grimdark dystopian sci-fi out there (never mind kind of the "grimdark dystopian" irl) but "name-brand" Star Trek's seeming monopoly (at least in the popular consciousness) on utopian sci-fi

Therefore; The Orville should be renewed for S4
