Greeting All:

Roosevelt "Rosey" Spivey opened the historic Marble Hill Unisex Barbershop on June 15, 1962, just a few months after graduating from barber school. On  June 15, 2019, Mr. Spivey celebrated 57 years of trimming hair on the same location of 151 West 228th Street.

Mr. Spivey is the pillar of the Marble Hill community, where many have come from near and far to absorb his humbleness, wisdom, and gracious aura whether for a haircut or just shooting the breeze. Mr. Spivey is not only Marble Hill's barber but also father, brother, uncle, cousin and a dear friend.

Through-out the years of Mr. Spivey provides affordable, quality haircuts to the Marble Hill community and beyond. For his long-standing services in the community of Marble Hill, a petition has been produced for the renaming the corner of West 228th Street to Roosevelt "Rosey" Spivey or Rosey's Way.

We are asking for your support to help with the renaming for Roosevelt "Rosey" Spivey who owns a  respectable establishment, which is not only a pillar of the community but also a historical landmark of Marble Hill.

We only ask that Mr. Spivey is recognized and to continue his respected legacy.

Thank you for your consideration, understanding and your support.

Respectfully,
The Marble Hill Community
