Rename West Boynton Park and Recreation Center in honor of Jared Jeffrey Auer

Rename West Boynton Park and Recreation Center in honor of Jared Jeffrey Auer
The Issue
In Honor of Jared Jeffrey Auer,
We respectfully petition for the renaming of West Boynton Park and Recreation Center at 6000 Northtree Blvd, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33463, to “Jared J. Auer Memorial Park and Recreation Center”, in honor of Jared Jeffrey Auer, whose life was tragically taken on Father's Day 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Jared was more than a victim of violence—he was a son, a twin brother, a teammate, a friend, and a deeply rooted member of this community. West Boynton Park was not just a place he frequently visited; it was a place that helped shape who he was. Jared grew up playing countless hours of sports here, including football with the West Boynton Flag Football League and alongside teammates from Park Vista Community High School Football team. Beyond organized sports, he regularly used the recreation center, heart trail, and skatepark, forming lasting friendships and memories that define what community parks are meant to provide.
Renaming this park would serve as a lasting tribute to a young man whose life embodied teamwork, perseverance, and community spirit. It would also stand as a meaningful reminder of the real human cost of violence, while celebrating the positive impact one individual can have on those around them.
This memorial would not erase tragedy—but it would transform loss into purpose, offering a place of reflection, remembrance, and unity for families, athletes, and residents for generations to come. We believe this effort would receive broad community support, including letters of endorsement from local residents, youth sports organizations, educators, and elected officials.
By supporting this petition, you are helping ensure that Jared’s name lives on in the very place that helped raise him—a place of growth, play, and connection.
Please join us in honoring Jared Jeffrey Auer by giving his name to the park that meant so much to him, and by doing so, reaffirming our community’s commitment to remembering, healing, and standing together.
