Rename the Williamsburg Bridge as the Sonny Rollins Williamsburg Bridge

5,000 supporters!

Sonny Rollins would be proud! Since we launched our petition just four weeks ago, over 5,000 people have signed in favor of renaming the Williamsburg Bridge in Rollins' honor. Citizens from all over the world are lending their support to our local, grassroots effort to recognize a colossal New Yorker. On behalf of the Sonny Rollins Bridge Project, I want to thank you for supporting our quest to rename the bridge as the SONNY ROLLINS WILLIAMSBURG BRIDGE. This independent initiative to commemorate Rollins and his artistic career is not related to any similar initiatives, and it is intended to honor the artistic heritage of New York City - the center of the jazz world for almost a century - as best exemplified by Sonny Rollins. If you haven't already, please share the petition with others: Our next milestone is 7,500 supporters. Increasing the number of signatures will help us prove to New York City and State officials that this is an idea whose time has come.
