John "Jackie" Gilloon was a legendary Point Guard for Memorial High School in West New York, NJ. and also made a name for himself at the University of South Carolina.  Gilloon set many records at both Memorial and South Carolina, some which remain unbroken to this day and was named All American.  His razzle dazzle play made defenders heads spin and his shot was as smooth as silk.  Jackie has recently passed and myself along with so many others, would be  grateful to have the naming of the gym as part of his legacy.
