Our health care system is struggling to keep workers, find new workers or entice people to want to come and work for them, all because the pay does not reflect the work, the starting salary for a nurse or midwife, after completing their bachelor degree is only $54,000, that's only $5 more per hour than minimum wage!! We as a country NEED these people and they are treated like they are a dime a dozen, yet our politicians and parliament members are all paid over double the average New Zealand salary!
