Remove useless Course Directors and ensure academic quality in IIMC

Indian Institute of Mass Communication is considered as one of the best journalism schools in India for years. But now everything is not well in this Institute of National Importance. Academic standards have fallen, and a bureaucratic cabal is active which runs the institute as it pleases and there are many allegations of corruption.

Under some impotent Course Directors, the academic quality has decreased at a high rate. Students are not getting any proper training and their future is in uncertainty. Syllabus is not properly covered, students are not allowed to work well on their practicals and thus the institute sends the students into industry half cooked.

Course Directors of English Journalism and Hindi Journalism are anti-student and the Course Director of English Journalism has no professional or academic experience in English media.

There are some excellent professors who teach well and have a pro student approach. But these Course Directors are not allotting classes for them and they constantly harass both the students and the professors who teach well.

In short , academic quality in IIMC has terribly deteriorated and allegations of corruption has been raised under these Course Directors and bureaucratic baboos.

IIMC Students Association realizes that, as a first step to regain the academic quality, these useless Course Directors should be removed and other worthy professors must be appointed as Course Directors.

We request all to sign this petition if you really think, proper training for journalists is important for a democratic media culture.
