There are no legal requirements that Canadian currency include the effigy of the reigning British monarch. This has been done historically yet is only based on tradition.

The mint has announced that they must await the Government’s direction on a new coin design, and will not make any coins featuring a changed design until the change is requested by appropriate authorities.

Sign this petition to tell members of the Government of Canada that we reject the continued use of monarchy on our coinage, and we reject any efforts to replace the current coins with the face of the UK's King Charles III.
