This petition is to specifically recognize the parents of International College students who do NOT want their children to be forced to wear a mask at school. These are the children who wish to go back to traditional face to face instruction. 

The compulsory use of face masks at schools do not serve the overall well being of the child. The evidence is showing that strict mandates such as wearing masks are not necessary and possibly unsafe for our children, especially with other precautions also in place. 

The science is clear that wearing a mask has proven to negatively impact the quality of education for students. Students are more likely to succeed if they are happier because they learn more when they are socially and emotionally relaxed. Children need to see facial expressions because this is how they learn empathy. Non-verbal cues are an essential part of communication especially for the littlest ones. They can also potentially contribute to breathing issues, headaches, vomiting and overheating. Finally, there is no way to police the cleanliness of the masks that can go unwashed or unchanged for days at a time posing a greater health risk. 

As their guardians, we cannot in good conscience allow our kids to cover their nose and mouth because we believe it’s harmful both physically and psychologically and detrimental to their development and learning. This petition is not a criticism towards IC institution which we respect and love. But only a cry for help and a fight for our children's right to breath fresh air. Please join us if you would like our school to remove the masks from our children.
