Why this petition matters
Started by Anonymous Parkie
The students of Warden Park have a right to express themselves in any way. It shouldn’t need to be said that this involves having the right to change your iPad wallpaper.
Now, I “agree” - I believe that the new vocabulary thing might work for our school. However, this is not the way of going about it.
These mind-forged manacles will not go unnoticed.
Some reasons why this is a bad idea:
- Students use their iPad lock screen for easy access to their timetable.
- Student’s parents are paying out of their noses for iPads, and these unnecessary restrictions do not reflect the amount of money that we pay for our iPads.
- Lockscreens are a way of making your iPad recognisable to you, so locking the lockscreens will make for increased counts of accidental iPad exchanges (AIEs).
- Many people are now stuck with their home screens. If this is a way of mandating what people have on their screens, it isn’t helping.
I believe that you can see the reasoning behind the blatant lack of reason here.
- Y10.
