Small businesses, creators, and organizations usually do not have the budget to pay for advertising so they rely heavily on their followers to share their posts in order to reach new audiences. Getting on someone's explore page is already super competitive and so "word of mouth" through stories is essential. Sharing a post directly assures that the creator gets their credit and gets the post the views it needs for the algorithm. Audience reach is super duperr important for accounts and so with this new sticker, Instagram is basically hindering the success of smaller accounts that can't afford to pay them for advertising. It's also hindering social justice accounts that rely on users sharing posts to spread the word about important issues of public concern. Every day people can receive real-life aid and support because of other users sharing their posts. It isn't quite censorship, but it's a step in the wrong direction.
