So far this year, there have been over SIX HUNDRED deaths from heroin alone, not counting the overdoses, lives destroyed, and increase in crime due to addiction in Baltimore. That number soars above the murder rate in a city plagued by violence and addiction. It doesn't serve to reason that a "monument" to someone who sold these drugs to our children and communities, perpetuating this cycle should be memorialized along with the criminals who destroyed parts of the city, committing unrelenting acts of violence, destruction and looting towards peaceful businesses and citizens of their own communities. Not only is it an eyesore, but a painful reminder of modern day slavery perpetuated by the drug dealers who enslave communities with brown powder, a spoon, and a syringe. Take down this modern day monument to slavery.
