Murphy, my young border collie, went to catch a ball in the Derry Dog Park when he collided with the decorative metal fire hydrant in the park. This accident resulted in two fractured teeth needing dental surgery. All of the other agility equipment in the park is wooden and appropriate for dog play. It is my understanding that other dogs have sustained injuries from the fire hydrant being located centrally within the park. I’m requesting community support to reach the ears of Derry Parks and Rec in order to remove the hydrant.
