Every day, children from neighbouring schools gather underneath our flats, by the benches, screaming, shouting, antagonising people’s pets - essentially demonstrating extreme anti-social behaviour. Residents have often felt threatened and even followed in by these 11-18 year olds. 

The anti-social behaviour extends to beyond just the children - we have people sitting on these benches, smoking crack and other illicit substances throughout the evening and night (particularly during the warmer months), often getting into fights, creating disturbances and harassing the local residents (literally following them 100s of meters down the road, often aggressively) for money. 

We think the removal of these benches will force them to move on rather than have a space to congregate and continue anti-social and harassing behaviour.
