The tragedy of Indian Government is that it taxes your favourite snacks say a Vada Pav at 5% while something as necessary as Education is taxed at 18%. Go figure what is more important for you, For the government, a lowly Vada Pav is certainly more important the right to affordable Education!.

This, when the Constitution (Eighty-sixth Amendment) Act, 2002 inserted Article 21-A in the Constitution of India to provide free and compulsory education of all children in the age group of six to fourteen years as a Fundamental Right in such a manner as the State may, by law, determine.

But the state thinks otherwise. While it is not able to provide free and affordable education to Indians as per above constitutional obligation, it does every thing to stop the Indian Industry in achieving this obligation by taxing educational services at 18% GST.
