I’m starting this petition because things are changing in OUR community for the worst. They put parking meters on Astoria Blvd and northern Blvd, I know people who have lived in them houses and apt buildings for 40-50 yrs and never had to pay for parking . Now all of a sudden they have to pay TO PARK WHERE THEY LIVE!! IMAGINE THAT. After speaking with some elders from the community I found out the elders have been trying to get this done since before covid but nothing happened. There the ones being affected the most being forced to park around the corner to avoid the meter. I propose remove the meters or grandfather in those that been living there over 25 yrs or prior to the meters but we must do something. It’s very arduous especially for an elder to have to park around the corner and walk to there residence to avoid  a parking fee where you lived your whole. And to add the fact in other communities they have residential stickers or something of the like for residents. Let’s help our community the long-standing residents SIGN THE PETITION!!
