To: City of Harare/Minister of Local Government 

Subject: Petition for the removal of Mayor Jacob Mafume from the Office of Mayor after being found guilty of lying under oath.

We, the undersigned residents of Harare, are deeply concerned about the recent guilty verdict against Mayor Jacob Mafume for giving false information to the Justice Chada commission during an inquiry.This serious offence has compromised the mayor's ability to effectively lead our city and has eroded public trust.

Therefore, we respectfully yet urgently  demand the removal of Mayor Jacob Mafume from office, effective immediately. We believe that this action is necessary to restore integrity, accountability, and transparency to our local government systems in the country.

The mayor's removal is essential for the following reasons:

*Loss of Public Trust*: The mayor's guilty verdict has severely damaged public confidence in their leadership and ability to make decisions that benefit our community. 
2.
*Inability to Lead*: The offence committed by the mayor has compromised council's ability to effectively govern and make decisions that promote the well-being of our city.
3.
Accountability.

 Removing the mayor from office is crucial in maintaining accountability and ensuring that our local government operates with integrity.

We urge you to take immediate action and remove Mayor Mafume from the office. We believe that this decision is in the best interest of our community and will help restore trust in our local government.
