There’s something so funny about being sent to a cafeteria to sit in silence if you’re even a minute late to class. I’m relatively new to DHS and I’ve been pretty good at memorizing my class locations and such, but one slip up and now I’m suddenly sitting in a cafeteria for nearly an hour because I took a wrong turn. They say they do this to teach a lesson and to make sure kids don’t get late ever again, but to me that’s just wrong. 

Schools love discipline so much, but they choose the worse ways to go about it. If you’re late to school you’re bad, if you’re late to class you’re bad, something so minor gets you treated like an idiot. You’re so stupid and idiotic if you come somewhere late. How dare you step onto their school; how dare you even try to show up and put in an effort. It’s a big screw you.

How can someone one minute say they care so much about my future and education, and then in the same breath send me to sit isolated and alone in the cafeteria. Please help me put a stop to this system. I don’t feel like I’ve learned a lesson, or I’ve changed from this. I’m just mad that didn’t let me go to class and learn. That they interrupted my day just to then later say how much of an inconvenience it is for them. Don’t waste my time just to say I’m wasting yours. I know everyone is sick of it, so let’s end it. To them I am just a number, but to me I’m just someone who wants to learn. But if they want to see us as numbers so bad, let's show them what real numbers can do.
